We strive to develop strong social skills and awareness with 3- and early 4-year-olds in our preschool classes. Children learn school routines and greater independence. They are encouraged to separate well from their family at drop-off times and to feel comfortable in their time away from their home and family. We stress cooperative play, communication skills and an increased interest in the world.
Children are introduced to many concepts and activities, including more formalized areas such as color identification, early letter and number recognition, pre-writing skills, science experimentation, music and movement, art experiences, health habits and consideration of others. Mastery is not expected in the areas listed above. Our goal is for children to learn a variety of materials and methods. The program for 3- and 4-year-olds is adapted to individual children and will take into account your child’s ability levels and interests.
