The Recycle Bug is Coming!

On Tuesday, December 13th, our preschoolers will catch the “Recycle Bug!” Artist Deborah Proctor will be here to share a snowy story and then challenge our children to create snow creatures out of recycled materials. We’re learning about helping our planet by creatively using “found” objects in a whole new way.

The 4-5′s Room is Getting a New Look

Work is beginning on some exciting updates to the 4-5′s room. New flooring is being installed and the kitchen area is being remodeled. We love our new cubby system and we think these changes are going to look great too. We can’t wait to see how it all looks when it’s finished!

4K Planning Underway

The Verona School District is moving forward with implementing a 4K program set to begin in the fall of 2012. We are working hard with the district on this exciting new program and plan to serve as a site. Many details remain to be finalized but initial projections are that families would begin to enroll in February of 2012. Watch for more information soon!

4K To Be Delayed

The Verona school district has announced that unfortunately, they were unable to arrive at an agreement with the teachers’ unions that would have allowed 4K to begin this fall. We are disappointed at this setback but hope to see it become a reality for fall 2012. We had some really exciting collaborations going on and we are hopeful we can rebuild those ties when the issue is back on the table.

High Tech

Technology is evolving quickly and we understand that it is important to equip our school age children with the tools and the training that will prepare them for the real world. The founders have recently made a major investment into our all new iMac Lab where children will have access to Apple iPads & iMacs running the latest OS.

Soft Touch

Following the teaching style of Dr. Maria Montessori, the Verona Montessori House emphasizes hands-on learning in a carefully prepared environment, with a focus on exploration and discovery. Children work in various specifically sectioned learning areas and move at their own pace .

Montessori programs also emphasize respect for each other and our environment, and the majority of furnishings and learning equipment are made from natural materials.
